ORDER
This writ petition has been filed challenging the proceedings in Na.Ka.No.01/Pa/Vee.Pa.Ka.Ni/Thi.Maa/Dated 08.01.2026 passed by the second respondent to be quash and the same as illegal and consequently direct the respondents to grant permission and protection for Arulmigu Sri Ayiram Aruval Kottai Karuppannasamy Thirukovil Vizha at Muthulapuram Village, Nilakottai Taluk, Dindigul District and for the “Drama namely SRI MHAMAYEE, CHINNAKARUPPU, PERIYA KARUPPU” Nadakam program on the night of 24.01.2026.
2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents would submit that there is a rival claim by another group, which belongs to the Devendiragula Vellalar community.
3. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, there is no discrimination and anyone can come and worship at the temple. Therefore, this Court is directing the petitioner not to restrict anyone from worshiping in the temple.
4. Further the Learned Counsel submitted that the rituals of Kida Vettu and offering of Aruval to the deity would be conducted and anybody can do kida vettu and offer aruval. Therefore it is directed that the petitioner shall not restraining anybody from doing the kida vettu and aruval offering.
5. As far as presenting Pattu Pudavai to the deity the same would be conducted while the deity proceeds through the streets. However, there is a rival claim regarding taking the deity through other streets. Therefore, this Court is directing to keep the deity inside the temple without any procession. Anyone shall offer Pattu Pudavai.
6. It is submitted that only the Devendiragula Vellalar community is claiming the right to bring the deity to their streets. Until this year, no such practice existed. If the Devendiragula Vellalar intended to declare any such right, they are at liberty to approach the competent civil court.
7. With regard to any other disputed issues, the parties are at liberty to approach the competent civil court and obtain appropriate orders.
8. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No Costs.
