O R D E R

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a Mandamus directing the respondents to lease out the properties of the Panchayat only by conducting public auction in accordance with the provisions of Tamil Nadu Panchayats (Procedure for conducting public auction for leases and sales in the Panchayats) Rules, 2001, for the period from 2025 to 2028.

2. When the matter was taken up for admission, this Court has granted an order of interim injunction not to lease out the shops without following the due procedures.

3. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the third respondent brought to the notice of this Court that paper publication has been effected in Thirunelveli Edition, “Dinamalar” on 31.12.2025 for conducting public auction for leasing out shops. She further submits that in all the adjacent panchayat offices, advertisements have been made.

4. In view of the above said facts, this Writ Petition stands disposed of with a direction to the respondents to strictly adhere to the statutory provisions in conducting the public auction. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently connected Miscellaneous Petition stands closed.
