O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the fourth and fifth respondents herein to mutate the petitioner’s name in the revenue records and issue a separate patta in his favour in respect of the property in Ayan Punja Survey No.221/4, now subdivided as Ayan Punja Survey No.221/4B, to an extent of 14 cents, situated at Poovani Village, Srivilliputhur Taluk, Virudhunagar District, by considering the petitioner’s representation dated 23.12.2025.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner’s vendor, one Palraj, purchased the subject property from one Nainar and his legal heirs by way of a registered sale deed dated 21.04.2017. Since there was an error in one of the boundary recitals, a rectification deed dated 01.09.2022 was also executed. The petitioner’s vendor thereafter subdivided the property and obtained a subdivision order from the fourth respondent. The petitioner purchased the said property from Palraj on 04.11.2025 and is in possession and enjoyment of the same. However, the name of the petitioner’s vendor has not been reflected in the computerised patta. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation dated 23.12.2025 to the respondents seeking mutation of the petitioner’s name in the revenue records and issuance of a separate patta in his favour. Since the respondents have not considered the petitioner’s request, the petitioner was constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 23.12.2025 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a period of four weeks.

5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the fourth respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.12.2025 on its merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The fourth respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity during such enquiry to the petitioner and any other interested parties who may be affected by the decision. There shall be no order as to costs.
