PRAYER :- Writ Petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to provide adequate protection to the petitioner who is L.W.2 in F.R.No. 116 / 2019 on the file of the Additional District Court No. II for PCR Act Cases, Tirunelveli as provided under Section 15-A of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989 or the Witness Protection Scheme, 2018, in accordance with law within a

time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

This Petition is filed for a mandamus, directing the respondents to provide adequate protection to the petitioner, who is L.W.2 in F.R.No. 116 / 2019 on the file of the Additional District Court No. II for PCR Act Cases, Tirunelveli.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the petitioner had not lodged any complaint alleging threat so far; that in fact, the petitioner has now been examined as witness and also been cross examined; and that if there is any specific complaint, the respondents would take action.

3. Admittedly, the petitioner has been examined in chief and cross examined. Hence, the police protection as sought for is not required.

4. Hence, this Writ Petition is disposed of. However, if there is any specific threat, it is open to the petitioner to lodge a complaint.
