..Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pay compensation to the petitioner for his land in Narasingapuram Village, S.F.No.

284/5B2D measuring hectare 0.16.0 ares land, Attur Taluk, Salem District.

ORDER

The petitioner asserts that he was the owner of 16 ares of land in S.F.No.284/5B2D and that the said lands were acquired under the Tamil Nadu Highways Act, 2001. Because compensation in respect of the acquired lands was not paid to him, the petitioner submitted representation dated 24.10.2025 and thereafter approached this Court.

2. Mr.P. Sathish, learned Additional Government Pleader, accepts notice for all the respondents. On the basis of written instructions, he submits that the patta stands in the names of eight persons in respect of S.F.No.284/5B2D. He also points out that compensation has been placed in the revenue deposit. He submits that the petitioner should provide evidence that he is the owner of the property in order to make a claim for compensation.

3. In view of the above submissions, this writ petition is disposed of on the following terms:

(i) The petitioner is permitted to provide evidence of ownership of the relevant immovable property to the third respondent within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

(ii) Upon receipt thereof, the third respondent is directed to consider the petitioner’s request for compensation and pass orders thereon within two weeks from the date of receipt of documents from the petitioner.

There will be no order as to costs.
