ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to grant patta for the properties in Survey No.506/2, 506/3A, 507/1, 507/2, 510/2, 510/3, 506/5A, 510/4 and 506/4A in Vilangudi Chief Village, Thiruvaiyaru Taluk, Thanjavur District and Survey No.68/6A and 68/6B in Punavasal Village, Thiruvaiyaru Taluk, Thanjavur District, by considering the petitioner's applications for Patta Transfer dated 05.12.2025. 2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is the lawful owner and is in possession of the subject properties. Despite the petitioner’s application dated 05.12.2025, the respondent has failed to consider the request for issuance of patta. Such inaction on the part of the respondent is arbitrary, unreasonable, and contrary to the settled principles of law. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent submits that the petitioner's application will be considered on merits and after hearing all the necessary parties, appropriate orders will be passed in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. Recording the aforesaid submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 05.12.2025, on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The application shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The respondent is directed to provide reasonable opportunity during such enquiry to the petitioner and all the necessary parties, who may be affected by such decision. Needless to state that in the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to work out their remedies before the Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
