Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of certiorari, calling for the records relating to the impugned tentative seniority list issued by the second respondent vide his proceedings Letter No.049985/G1/G1(1)/2025 dated 21.08.2025 and quash the same as illegal.

2. Heard the learned counsels appearing for the parties.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners herein, who possessed the Educational qualification of B.E. Degree in Electronics & Instrumentation and Electronics & Communication respectively, were appointed as Assistant Engineers (Electrical) in the year 2012 through direct recruitment as per the discipline-wise ratio fixed by the Service Regulations viz., Electrical & Electronics (91%); Electronics & Communication (5%); Instrumentation (2%) and Computer Science/IT (2%) and their seniority was not fixed at that time. He further submitted that the second respondent issued a tentative seniority list on 03.03.2025 ,fixing their inter-se seniority based on the B.E. discipline i.e., from the discipline of Electrical and Electronics, ignoring all other disciplines, which is unsustainable and contrary to Regulation 97 and as against the same, they submitted their representation/objections on 25.03.2025 but the same was not considered and hence, they filed W.P.No.15745 of 2025, which is pending. He also submitted that the second respondent issued proceedings dated 21.08.2025 calling for suitability for promotion to Assistant Executive Engineer based on the disputed seniority. Aggrieved over the same, the present Writ Petition.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, there shall be a direction to the second respondent herein to consider and dispose of the petitioners’ objections/representation dated 25.03.2025, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed. There shall be no orders as to costs.
