ORDER
The petitioner is the unmarried daughter of an employee, who served as Assistant Professor in V.O.Chidambaram College, Thoothukudi, retired from service on 31.07.2016 and died on 16.04.2021. The petitioner's mother predeceased her father. According to the petitioner, since she is the unmarried daughter, she is eligible for family pension in terms of G.O.No.327, Finance (Pension) Department, dated 30.08.2001 and G.O.No.337, Finance (Pension) Department, dated 14.11.2019. Therefore, she made a claim for eligible family pension. However, the same has not been considered. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking a writ of mandamus.

Today, when this writ petition is taken up for hearing, Mr.M.Sarangan, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents 3 and 4, submits that the private college, namely, V.O.Chidambaram College, Thoothukudi, forwarded a proposal for providing family pension to the petitioner, to the 3rd respondent only on 14.11.2025 and the same has been duly forwarded by the 3rd respondent to the 2nd respondent, namely, the Principal Accountant General (A&E), Chennai, on 22.01.2025.
3. Since it is reported that the proposal sent by the private college has also been forwarded by the 3rd respondent to the second respondent, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the proposal made by the 3rd respondent and pass suitable orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
