ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed challenging the provisional selection listed bearing notification No.1/2023 dated 05.05.2023 published on 27.10.2025 issued by the second respondent, only to the extent of substituting respondents 4 to 9 in the BC/BC(Women) reservation category and thereby not selecting the petitioners under the BC/BC(W) reservation category and consequently direct the second respondent to select the petitioners under the BC/BC(W) reservation category within time frame fixed by this Court.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners are belonging to the Backward Class (hereinafter referred to as “BC”) community and they participated in the selection for the post of Sub Inspector of Police (men & women) vide notification No.01 of 2023. The grievances of the petitioners are that post in the BC category was converted into Most Backward Class category and given to them. Challenging the same the present Writ Petition is filed.

However, the learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the second respondent would submit that the respondents have no role in the selection process and the entire selection was done by the Judicial Committee appointed by this Court in W.P.No.32347 of 2024 by an order dated 22.04.2025 and on the basis of the Judicial Committee report the entire selection was made. He further submitted that the report of the Judicial Committee was placed before the Hon’ble Division Bench of this Court in W.A.No.2552 of 2025 and by an order dated 08.10.2025, the Hon’ble Division Bench directed the respondents to publish the result and accordingly, he prayed for dismissal of this Writ Petition.

4. This Court has carefully considered the submissions made by learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

5. In respect of the petitioners are concerned, the first petitioner has scored 81 marks in the BC category and the date of birth of the first petitioner is 07.01.1993. Whereas, the person who selected in the BC category has the cut off mark of 81 and his the date of birth is 15.05.1990 viz., Duraisingh C. In respect of the other petitioners, they have scored 75, 80.75, 80.75 & 80.75 marks respectively. Whereas, the successful candidates have scored 75.25, 81, 81 & 81 marks respectively. If at all the petitioners have any grievances, they have to challenge the Judicial Committee report, which was affirmed by the Division Bench of this Court. Therefore, this Court is not inclined
