This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to execute the order dated 13.03.2023 passed in Pa.E.Sa.No.104/2019 and to recover the awarded amount from the second respondent, based on the petitioner’s representation dated 07.01.2026, within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that in the claim petition in Pa.E.Sa.No.104/2019 filed by the petitioner seeking compensation for the death of his son, who died while on duty under the second respondent, the first respondent, by order dated 13.03.2023, awarded compensation of Rs.8,84,800/- along with interest at the rate of 12% per annum from the date of accident till the date of deposit. However, the second respondent has not paid the said amount. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 07.01.2026 to the first respondent seeking recovery of the compensation amount from the second respondent. Since the first respondent has not taken any action on the said representation, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the first respondent, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 07.01.2026 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a period of sixteen weeks.

5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.01.2026 and pass appropriate orders on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The first respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, before passing any order. There shall be no order as to costs.
