ORDER

The State of Tamil Nadu, represented by its Secretary to the Government, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Fort St. George, Chennai –

600 009 is suo motu impleaded as the 4^th respondent to this writ petition.

2.Heard Mr.Sudarshan for Mr.T.Sundaravatanam and Ms.C.Meera Arumugam for R1, R2 and newly impleaded R4.

3.The petitioner was elected as the President of Panchamadevi Village Panchayat in the year 2021. By virtue of the impugned proceedings, the 1^st respondent has removed him from the said post. Challenging the same, the writ petition is before this Court.

4.When the matter came up for admission, I pointed out to Mr.Sudarshan that under Section 219 of the Panchayats Act, the petitioner has remedy of Revision before the 4^th respondent. In response, he submits that the petitioner has in fact availed the said remedy on 06.01.2026 and as it had not been considered, he is before this Court.

5.Ms.C.Meera Arumugam states that the appeal will be disposed of within a period of three (3) weeks from today (19.1.2026). Her statement is recorded.

6.The 4^th respondent is directed to dispose the Statutory Revision preferred under Section 219 of the Panchayats Act within a period of three (3)

weeks.

7.The writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the miscellaneous petitions are closed.

8.Call the matter on 13.02.2026 for compliance.

9.Registry is directed to carry out the necessary amendment.
