Prayer:
This Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records relating to the impugned order passed by the second respondent in his proceedings in Letter No.UMIPO/EKA/PULI/KO.Kattu A.No.126/18-19 dated 10.09.2018 and set aside the same as illegal and consequently directing the respondents, to assess the correct electricity consumption charges, to the service connection number 277-001-1657, in Thangam Steel rolling Mill, situated at Oomanthur Village, Trichy District as contemplated in Rule 11(2)(3) of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Supply Code 2004 .
ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed challenging the order passed by the second respondent wherein the petitioner has been called upon to pay current consumption charges for the period between June 2018 to September 2018.
2.It could be seen from the impugned order that the petitioner has not paid the said consumption charges on the ground that they are exhorbitant and due to the defective meter, this demand is being made.
3.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that in case if any allegation of defective meter, it is for the petitioner to approach the Appellate Authority under Regulation 11(7) of Tamil Nadu Electricity Supply Code, 2004.
4.The issue relating to the defective meter cannot be considered in this writ petition. It is open to the writ petitioner to challenge the same before the Appellate Authority.
5.With the above said observation, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
