PRAYER; This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent herein to consider and pass orders on the petitioners representation dated 24/10/2025 to regularize the services of the petitioner on completion of 3 years of service from date of his original appointment i.e. with effect from 1.07.1997 in the light the orders passed by the first respondent herein in G.O. (D) No. 609 Municipal Administration and Water Supplies (MC 3) Department dated 17/10/2025 and allow the petitioner to retire from service with effect from 31.12.2021 with all consequential service and monetary benefits, within a time frame as deem fit and proper by this Honourable Court For Petitioner(s): M/s.R.Kishore Kumar For Respondent: Mr.C.Selvaraj, AGP R1 Mr.S.Gopinathan RR2 & 3
ORDER
This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent herein to consider and pass orders on the petitioners representation dated 24/10/2025 to regularize the services of the petitioner on completion of 3 years of service from date of his original appointment i.e. with effect from 1.07.1997 in the light the orders passed by the first respondent herein in G.O. (D) No. 609 Municipal Administration and Water Supplies (MC 3) Department dated 17/10/2025 and allow the petitioner to retire from service with effect from
31.12.2021 with all consequential service and monetary benefits.

It is the case of the petitioner that he was appointed in the erstwhile Karapakkam Panchayat as Sanitary Worker and were absorbed in Greater Chennai City Corporation on account of merger of the panchayat with Chennai Corporation. Persons working along with the petitioners have been granted regularization on completion of three years of service consequent to Government order dated 17.10.2025. The petitioner is seeking regularization on par with other similarly situated persons. But his claim has not been considered till date. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may direct the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioners representation within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the representation will be considered and orders will be passed within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.
5. Heard the learned counsel for both side and perused the materials available on record.
6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in view of the limited request sought for by the petitioner, this court directs the second respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 24.10.2025 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
