Prayer: To issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 2nd Respondent to give permission and police protection to conduct Kabadi Tournament on 14.02.2026 from 6.00 P.M to 15.02.2026 to 9.PM in connection with Masi Magar Sivarathiri Festival of Arulmigu Sri Irulappa Swamy temple situated at Kallakari Village, Thiruchuli, Virudhunagar.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 2nd Respondent to give permission and police protection to conduct Kabadi Tournament on 14.02.2026 from 6.00 P.M to 15.02.2026 to 9.PM in connection with Masi Magar Sivarathiri Festival of Arulmigu Sri Irulappa Swamy temple situated at Kallakari Village, Thiruchuli, Virudhunagar. 2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is a member of the festival committee and approximately 32 teams from his district are expected to participate in the Kabadi Tournament. In this regard, he has submitted a representation to the 2^nd respondent to grant permission to conduct the Kabaadi tournament on the occasion of the Maha Shivaratri festival. Hence, this writ petition is filed seeking permission and protection.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the petitioner is permitted for conducting Kabadi Tournament on 14.02.2026 and 15.02.2026 from 04.00 a.m., to 12.00 Noon only in connection with Masi Magar Sivarathiri Festival of Arulmigu Sri Irulappa Swamy temple situated at Kallakari Village, Thiruchuli, Virudhunagar. The respondents are directed to provide necessary police protection.

4. With the above observations, this writ petition is disposed of. No Costs.
