ORDER The present writ petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent police to grant police protection for the Kabadi tournament.
2. Pending writ petition, the respondent police have passed the impugned order dated 05.02.2026 rejecting the petitioner's application by citing that already there was a dispute in the year 2022 and there was an FIR registered against some persons. 3. The said allegation was refuted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the said FIR was registered based on the dispute while conducting the 'Adal Padal' programme and it was not regarding the Kabadi tournament. Hence, he seeks for police protection.
4. In the present case, the petitioner is seeking permission to conduct Kabadi tournament. Therefore the said impugned order dated 05.02.2026 is hereby quashed. The respondent police is directed to consider the petitioner's representation afresh.
5. The next objection of the respondent police is the said place is not suitable for conducting the tournament. Therefore, the venue may be decided by the police after negotiating with the petitioner. The respondent shall give police protection by imposing all the usual conditions.
6.With these directions, this Writ Petition is allowed. No Costs.
