ORDER

When the petitioner’s wife went missing on 12.01.2026, he lodged a complaint on the very same day before the third respondent police, which was registered as CSR.No.24 of 2026. Since the petitioner’s wife could not be secured within a reasonable time, the present Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed.

2. When the matter came up for hearing today in the forenoon, the third respondent police produced the detenue before this Court. Thereupon, this Court directed the third respondent police to produce the private respondents before this Court and passed over the matter.

3. When the matter was called again thereafter, the third respondent police produced the detenue, as well as the mother of the detenue, who is the 6^th respondent herein. Upon interaction, the detenue stated that she did not go with the petitioner on her own volition and that she had not given her free consent for the marriage, alleging that she was earlier subjected to threat and coercion. She, however, categorically stated that she is presently not under any illegal custody.

4. Since the detenue has expressed that she is not under any illegal custody at present, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to workout the remedy in the manner known to law.
