ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for the following reliefs:-
“directing the respondents to consider petitioner representation dated
06.01.2026 to change petitioner sons name in the birth certificate of petitioner son as M.Mohammed Faizul Rahman instead of M.Mohammed Fizul Rahman within time frame.”
2. The Petitioner’s case is that her son’s name is M. Mohammed Faizul Rahman, as evidenced by his Aadhaar Card. However, the school authorities where the Petitioner’s son is studying recently informed her that his name in the Birth Certificate has been wrongly recorded as M. Mohamed Fizul Rahman, and that unless the correction is made, the issuance of the Hall Ticket for the 10th Standard will be affected.. Therefore, the petitioner had submitted several representations to the 1st respondent to correct her son’s name in the Birth Certificate. However, no action has been taken to date. Hence, the Writ Petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel on either side.
4. Considering the limited request of the petitioner and taking note of the fact that the respondents are duty-bound to correct clerical or factual errors in public documents, the respondents are directed to consider and dispose of the petitioner’s representation dated 06.01.2026, seeking correction of her son’s name in the Birth Certificate, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands allowed. No costs.
