PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India,

to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to give electricity

connection to the petitioner's house in Natham Survey No.399/2A situated at

Rengasamypuram, Keelaiyur, Melur Taluk, Madurai District, based on the

petitioner's representation dated 12.12.2025 within the time stipulated by this

Court.

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus directing the

respondent to provide electricity service connection to the petitioner's house in

Natham S.No.399/2A at Rengasamypuram, Keelaiyur, Melur Taluk, Madurai

District, based upon her application dated 12.12.2025.

2. From the affidavit, it could be seen that the above said survey number

has been acquired by the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department and housesite pattas

have been issued to the people belonging to Adi Dravidar community with a

condition to construct house. The petitioner claims that she belongs to the same

community. However, patta has not been granted in her favour. The petitioner

claims that she is in possession only as an encroacher of the property.

Considering the fact that the petitioner has put up construction in the said

property and as long as any proceedings are initiated for removing the

encroachment, she would be entitled to get service connection to her property.

3. The respondent is directed to provide service connection after attaining

indemnity bond from the petitioner. The said exercise shall be completed with a

period of 6(six) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of.
