ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus to direct the respondents to cancel the legal heir certificate which was issued pursuant to the death of the petitioner's husband and to include her name as well as her son's name in the legal heir certificate based upon her representation dated

19.12.2025.

2. A perusal of the records reveal that one Janakiramu had passed away on 15.12.2019. One Ponnulakshmi, Gokila and Naveen Kannan have been issued with the legal heir certificate by way of the orders of the second respondent dated 05.07.2020. However, the petitioner could not get a copy of this said legal heir certificate. When the petitioner had approached the second respondent, he was informed that already legal heir certificate has been issued in favour of some 3^rd parties without including the name of the writ petitioner.

The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents has produced a copy of the legal heir certificate issued in favour of some 3^rd parties wherein the name of the petitioner is not found. A copy of the same has also been furnished to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner. 4. In case if the petitioner is aggrieved over the legal heir certificate dated

05.07.2020, it is open to her to file an appeal before the concerned Revenue Divisional Officer. Since the petitioner became aware of the order of Tahsildar only today, in case if any appeal is preferred before the Revenue Divisional Officer on or before 25.03.2026, the same shall be entertained without any reference to the period of limitation.

5. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of.

No costs.
