Prayer: This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of
India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to
forthwith process and settle the petitioner’s claim for reimbursement of medical
expenses amounting to Rs.6,83,140/- (Rupees six lakhs eighty-three thousand
one hundred and forty only) incurred by the petitioner and his wife for

COVID-19 treatment during August 2020, together with applicable interest,
pursuant to Government order No.222 dated 30.06.2018.

ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents
to consider the petitioner’s representation, dated 30.06.2025, within a time
frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. The petitioner has made a representation, dated 30.06.2025 before the
respondents seeking reimbursement of medical expenses amounting to
Rs.6,83,140/- incurred by the petitioner and his wife for Covid-19 treatment
together with applicable interest, pursuant to Government Order No.222 dated
30.06.2018. Since the same has not been considered till date, the petitioner has
filed this writ petition.
3. Mr.K.Surendran, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts
notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3.
4. Though many grounds have been raised in this writ petition, learned
counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if this Court issues

direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated
30.06.2025, as expeditiously as possible.
5. Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents
would submit that the representation of the petitioner dated 30.06.2025 will be
considered and appropriate order will be passed within a time frame to be fixed
by this Court.
6. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials
available on record.
7. Accordingly, the respondents are directed to pass final orders on merits
and in accordance with law on the petitioner’s representation, dated 30.06.2025,
within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this
order. This Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the petitioner’s
representation.
With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There
shall be no order as to costs.
