The prayer in the petition is to direct the third respondent to extend the emergency leave already granted to the petitioner's son Velmurugan, S/o.Karuppanan, PID No.305576 who is a life convict prisoner for a further period of 10 days from 26.02.2026 by considering the petitioner's email representation.

2. The petitioner is the father of the life convict. The son of the petitioner was convicted in S.C.No.120 of 2021 for the offences under Sections 148,149,302 of IPC on 19.10.2023. Against which the convict has preferred an appeal before this Court and the same was dismissed. The convict is in jail from the date of judgment. While being so, the petitioner being the father of the convict submitted representation seeking 15 days emergency leave for his son on the ground that the convict's marriage was solemnized on 22.02.2026. On receipt of such representation the authorities concerned had granted five days emergency leave for the convict from 20.02.2026 to 26.02.2026 with escorts. During emergency leave the convict got married on 22.02.2026 and he has to surrender on or before 26.02.2026. While being so after marriage there are some ceremonies to be performed between the bride and bridegroom and as such the petitioner submitted another representation seeking extension of emergency leave for the convict for another ten days.

3. Admittedly the convict got married on 22.02.2026 and the petitioner submitted representation seeking extension of emergency leave for ten days.

4. Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case the emergency leave granted to the convict is extended till 02.03.2026.

5. With the above direction, the writ petition(Crl.)stands disposed of. It is made clear that the convict shall surrender before the jail authorities on or before 5.00 p.m., on 02.03.2026 [G.K.I., J.] [R.P., J.]
