O R D E R

Challenge has been made against the refusal check slip issued by the second respondent dated 29.01.2026.

2.By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3.The learned Counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner intending to execute a settlement deed in favour of his sister, presented the document before the respondent for registration. The same came to be refused by the respondent, citing the reason that one Hariharan has made an objection. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

4.Learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would fairly submit since one Hariharan made an objection, the respondents refused to register the settlement deed without hearing the parties. Hence, the impugned order may be set aside and remitted back to the respondent for fresh consideration.

5.Heard the learned Counsel on either side.

6.Admittedly, the impugned order has been passed without hearing the parties. Hence, the impugned order dated 29.01.2026, passed by the respondent is set aside. While setting aside the impugned order, this Court directs the petitioner to re-present the settlement deed to the respondent, who shall issue notice to the parties concerned and after hearing the parties shall take a decision for registration of the settlement deed in accordance with law. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of four [4] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7.Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
