The Court can issue directions for expeditious disposal of divorce petitions to prevent undue delays in justice.

ORDER

The civil revision petition is filed seeking a direction to the Sub Court, Poonamallee to dispose of the divorce petition filed by the petitioner in HMOP.No. 451 of 2022 within a time frame fixed by this Court.

2. The petitioner herein filed main OP seeking divorce against the respondent on the ground of cruelty and desertion. The divorce petition was filed in the year 2022.

3. A perusal of the e-court status filed in the typed set of papers would indicate that pleadings of the parties were completed and P.W.1 was examined on 12.08.2025. Thereafter, the same was adjourned for cross-examination of P.W.1 at the request of the respondent.

4. Taking into consideration the OP was of the year 2022 and examination of P.W.1 was commenced as early as August 2025, this Court is inclined to direct the Trial court to dispose of the main OP as expeditiously as possible.

5. With this direction, the civil revision petition stands disposed of. No costs.
