Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the fifth respondent to correct the Birth Certificate of the petitioner's adopted daughter minor Selvi.Ranjana by incorporating the names of her adoptive parents, namely father's name as “Sudhakaran” and mother's name as 'Mallika' on the strength of the Adoption Deed in registered under Document No.2/BK4/2016 dated 17.02.2016, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 07.10.2025, within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R
The present writ petition has been filed seeking a Mandamus directing the fifth respondent to correct the Birth Certificate of the petitioner's adopted daughter namely minor Selvi.Ranjana by incorporating the names of her adoptive parents.
2. A perusal of the records reveal that the petitioner herein along with his wife had adopted a daughter minor Selvi.Ranjana by way of Adoption Deed dated 17.02.2016. Based upon the adoption deed, the petitioner has sent a representation to the first respondent as well as the third respondent seeking alteration in the Birth Certificate of the said Selvi.Ranjana.
3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the fifth respondent brought to the notice of this Court that so far, they have not received any application from the writ petitioner. However, the application sent by the petitioner is pending only from on 06.02.2026.
4. In view of the above said facts, the fifth respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 06.02.2026 and pass orders after verifying the records, under Form -1A of Tamil Nadu Registration of Births and Deaths Rules 2000. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above said observation, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
