ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents herein to take necessary action against the 3rd respondent herein u/s.2 of Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 based on the petitioners representation dated

21.10.2024.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that on the occasion of Independence Day i.e., on 15.08.2024, the petitioner personally witnessed an incident at the entrance of Krishnagiri City Police Station, wherein the Inspector of Police Mr.Venkatesh Prabhu, the third respondent herein was sitting in a chair deliberately placing his foot with shoes on the Indian National Flag created out of Rangoli Powder on the ground, thereby insulting the sanctity and dignity of the National Flag. In order take disciplinary action against the aforesaid person, the petitioner herein made a representation dated 21.10.2024 to the respondents. However, no order was passed by the respondents as on date. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the present writ petition. 3. Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that pursuant to the complaint made by the petitioner, disciplinary action was initiated against the third respondent and punishment of deferred censure for three months was imposed.

4. Since the prayer sought in this writ petition has already been granted, nothing survives in this writ petition. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
