Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to reimburse the medical expenses of Rs. 3,63,895/- incurred by the petitioner for taking medical treatment at Bharathiraja Hospital and Research Centre private Limited T.Nagar, Chennai, with interest at 12 percentage per annum from 03.05.2024 to till the date of payment within a stipulated of time to be fixed by this Hon’ble Court.

ORDER
This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to reimburse the medical expenses of Rs. 3,63,895/- incurred by the petitioner for taking medical treatment at Bharathiraja Hospital and Research Centre private Limited T.Nagar, Chennai, with interest at 12% per annum from 03.05.2024 to till the date of payment within a stipulated of time to be fixed by this Honble Court.
2.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is working as a Senior Grade Helper in Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Villupuram), Limited and is a member of the New Health Insurance Scheme. For the said NHIS, a sum of Rs.300/- is deducted from his salary from the date of introduction of the scheme till date. He further submitted that petitioner undergone Coronary Angiography and PCI to LAD, LCX and RCA with DES (Sirolimus eluting stents) via the right brachial artery on 29.04.2024. He was discharged from the hospital on 02.05.2024. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted a representation to the 3rd respondent on 13.12.2024, claiming medical reimbursement. The 3rd respondent forwarded the same to the 4th respondent for processing the claim. However, the claim has not been considered till date.
Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.
3.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the proposal letter of the 3rd respondent dated 07.02.2025 will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed. If the petitioner is found eligible, the claim will be settled in his favour.
4.Recording the same, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the 4th respondent to consider the proposal letter forwarded by the 3rd respondent dated 07.02.2025 and pass appropriate orders, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
