ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for direction to the respondents to include the petitioner in the Old pension scheme under the Tamil Nadu Pension Rules, 1978 by taking into account of the service of the Petitioner as on the date of the Government order in G.O.Ms. No.209, P & AR Department dated 23.11.2001 for the purpose of extension of pensionary benefits from 10.07.1991 to 31.12.1992, in consideration of representation submitted by the petitioner dated 13.03.2024 with all consequential and other attendant benefits within a time frame to be fixed by this Court
2. The learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was originally employed in State Census Scheme sponsored by the Central Government under the Directorate of Census Operation, Tamilnadu on 10.07.1991. Subsequently, he was retired from service along with other similarly placed persons on 31.12.1992. Subsequently, he was appointed in the Registration Department as Assistant and posted in the Office of IG of Registration on 16.10.2006. Thereafter, he retired from service on 31.05.2024. After retirement, the petitioner made representation to the second respondent to provide pension in terms of earlier appointment dated 10.07.1991 vide representation dated 13.03.2024. However, no order has been passed.
Hence, this writ petition has been filed.
3. Considering the limited request of the petitioner, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation dated 13.03.2024 of the petitioner and to pass order on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of this order.
4. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
