ORDER

The present Criminal Original Petition has been filed to transfer the investigation in Crime No.873 of 2025, dated 19.10.2 025, pending on the file of the third respondent to the file of the fourth respondent or any other investigation agency to be appointed by this Court.

2. The case of the petitioner is that her daughter, who was married to one Bharathiraja on 22.02.2024, died under suspicious circumstances on 18.10.2025. The petitioner had given a complaint to the third respondent police. The petitioner came to know that there was a fight between her daughter and son-in-law due to which, her daughter committed suicide by hanging. Based on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Crime No.837 of 2025 was registered under Sections 194(3)(i) of the BNSS, 2023, on 19.10.2025. Alleging that the third respondent has not conducted a proper investigation, the present Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking transfer of investigation.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents submitted that based on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Crime No.837 of 2025 was registered. Since the daughter of the petitioner had committed suicide within seven years of her marriage, the third respondent police has referred the matter to the Revenue Divisional Officer for enquiry and the same is still pending. The report of the Revenue Divisional Officer is awaited and as and when the report of the Revenue Divisional Officer is received, the third respondent will take appropriate steps to alter the case. He further submitted that the investigation is being done properly.

4. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

Considering the submission of the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) that since the report of the Revenue Divisional Officer is awaited, the third respondent is unable to proceed further, this Court does not find any error or infirmity in the investigation being done. However, the second respondent is directed to monitor the investigation on a weekly basis.

6. With the above observation and direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
