Order

The petitioner has filed the writ petition to direct the 2nd respondent to provide new electricity service connection in the name of the petitioner.

2. The contention of the petitioner is that he is in possession and enjoyment of the property situated at No.07, Perumal Koil Street, Ernavoor, Chennai 600 057. The said property originally belonged to one Mr.Doss, who is the brother of his father. Since the said Doss died 30 years ago and had no children, the said property has been in the possession of the petitioner. There was also a property dispute for the said property between the petitioner and his sister. The petitioner has filed a Suit in O.S.NO.17/2023 before the District Munsif, Thiruvottriyur. Now, the petitioner has sent representation dated 02.02.2026 for a new electricity service connection. Since the said representation was not considered, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 reported that no application has been filed by the petitioner for new electricity service connection.

4. Heard both sides and also perused the materials available on record.

5. It is seen that the petitioner has not made any application for a new electricity service connection. Without filing the application, he straight away knocking the doors of this Court for an order to direct the respondents to give the electricity connection, which is inappropriate in the eye of law. Hence, this Court finds no merit in this writ petition.

6. In view of the above, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
