ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for the following reliefs:-

“directing the Respondents to forthwith settle the arrears of compensation for the past usage of Petitioner school Buildings for the compulsory use of Petitioner school premises as a Polling station during Parliamentary, Assembly and Local Body election accordance with the statutory provisions, in consideration of representation submitted by the petitioner school dated 26.05.2023, 24.11.2023 and 31.07.2024.”

2. The main grievance of the petitioner is that though its private school premises were used as a polling station during Parliamentary, Assembly, and Local Body elections, which caused wear and tear to the property, the respondents have not taken any steps to compensate the school. In this regard the petitioner had submitted several representations. However, to date, the same have not been considered. Hence, the Writ Petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

4. Considering the limited request of the petitioner and taking note of the fact that the petitioner’s representations dated 26.05.2023, 24.11.2023 and 31.07.2024. have not been considered to date, the Writ Petition is allowed. The respondents are directed to consider and dispose of the petitioner’s representation within a period of 3 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
