ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent to grant police protection to the petitioner to run the mill situated at E51, Industrial Estate, Thuvakudi, Trichy District.

2. The contention of the petitioner is that he is a lessee of the said mill and that the third respondent is its owner. According to him, certain third parties are inducing the third respondent to evict him and hand over the mill to them. In this regard, there was a scuffle between the petitioner and the third respondent. It is further alleged that the third parties had given life threats to the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner seeks police protection for his life as well as to run the Mill.

3. This Court is of the considered opinion that police protection cannot be granted for the purpose of running the mill. However, the official respondents are directed to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner for his life, if there is any real threat and the cost shall be borne by the petitioner. As far as the relief sought to run the mill is concerned, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the competent Civil Court for appropriate remedy.

4. With these observations, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
