2026 Supreme(Online)(Mad) 18383

IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT MADRAS
B.PUGALENDHI, J
S.Murugan – Appellant
Versus
Vaneeswari, The General Manager, Dindigul District Co-Operative Milk Producers Union – Respondent
WP(MD)No.7019 of 2023

Advocates:
For the Appellants/Petitioners: Mr.J.Lawrance
For the Respondents: Mrs.D.J.Devasena

The court determined that compliance with a court order precludes a finding of contempt.

Headnote:This judgment pertains to a contempt petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act against the respondent for willful disobedience of a previous court order. The petitioner contended that the directives issued by the court were not followed. The court found that the respondent complied with the court's order as evidenced by the subsequent actions taken to resolve the issue. The primary legal question was whether there was contempt of court regarding the enforcement of the earlier directive. The court reasoned that since actions were taken post-order, it absolved the respondent of contempt.

Result: This contempt petition is closed.

ORDER

Challenging the same the petitioner has also filed another writ petition before this court.

2.Considering the above submission, this contempt petition is closed.
