The court directed the expeditious disposal of an appeal under Article 226 while maintaining status quo in religious practices during the process.

ORDER

The innocuous relief that is prayed for in the writ petition is to dispose of the A.P.No.9 of 2026 pending on the file of the first respondent as against the order of the 2^nd respondent dated 12.09.2025 in O.A.No.13 of

2008.

2.When the matter came up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the first and second respondents would submit that if ample time is granted, the appeal will be disposed of.

3.Mr.V.Muthukamatchi, learned counsel takes notice for the third and fourth respondents.

4.In view thereof, this writ petition is disposed of on the following terms:

(i)A.P.No.9 of 2026 shall be disposed of as expeditiously as possible in any event, not later than four months from the date of receipt of web copy of the order, without waiting for the certified copy of the order. No costs.
