For the Respondents: Mr.Madhuri Donti Reddy (R1 & R2), Mr.A.Kannan (R3 to R8 & R10), Mr.K.Sanjai Gandhi (R9), Mr.Prasanna Vinodh (R11 to R13)

The court emphasized that a petitioner must demonstrate bona fides in pursuing litigation, especially after prior adjudication on the same matter.

Headnote:In the present case, the petitioner sought a Writ of Mandamus against the fourth respondent to shut down a quarry and crusher unit. The lease had expired, and excess quarrying was noted, leading to penalties. Moreover, a related case was adjudicated by the National Green Tribunal, which had issued comprehensive directives for compliance. The court concluded that the present petition lacked bona fides, having been filed post-resolution of the matter, and the petitioner was deemed to have an oblique motive. Thus, the petition was disposed of with no costs.
