PRAYER; This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider and pass orders on the representation made by the Petitioner dated 02.01.2026 to fill up the vacancy of sub- Inspector of Police in the cadre of MBC Community, caused on account of the disqualification of the provisional selected candidate P.Tamilarasan (Roll No.4650165) in the Verification of antecedents, and appoint the petitioner in the said vacancy for the post of Sub- Inspector of Police for the Joint Recruitment- 2023, who happen to the next eligible candidate under the 20 Percent MBC Quota, within a reasonable time frame as deem fit by this Hon'ble court.

ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to consider and pass orders on the representation made by the Petitioner dated 02.01.2026 to fill up the vacancy of sub- Inspector of Police in the cadre of MBC Community, caused on account of the disqualification of the provisional selected candidate P.Tamilarasan (Roll No.4650165) in the Verification of antecedents, and appoint the petitioner in the said vacancy for the post of Sub- Inspector of Police for the Joint Recruitment- 2023, who happen to the next eligible candidate under the 20 Percent MBC Quota, 2. It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner has come to know that one candidate P.Tamilarasan, who was provisionally selected and appointed to service and he was subsequently disqualified on the ground of involvement in the criminal case, which was found out by the Department during verification of antecedence. Hence, his selection to the post was cancelled for having involved in a criminal case and also suppression of his involvement in the criminal case. The petitioner is the next eligible candidate having secured the cut off mark and stood next in the list. Hence, the petitioner made a detailed representation on 02.01.2026 for appointment in the vacancy caused on account of disqualification of P.Tamilarasan and the same is not considered. Hence, the petitioner filed the present writ petition.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may direct the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioners representation within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

4. The learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondents submitted that the representation will be considered and orders will be passed within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

5. Heard the learned counsel for both side and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in view of the limited request sought for by the petitioner, this court directs the third respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 02.01.2026 within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
