ORDER

Mr.C. Selvaraj, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the 1^st respondent and Mr.S. Gopinathan, learned counsel takes notice for respondents 2 to 4. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioners were initially appointed in the erstwhile Manali Panchayat and, upon merger with the Greater Chennai Corporation in the year 2011, their services were absorbed in the Corporation. It is the case of the petitioners that similarly placed persons have been granted regularisation on completion of three years of service pursuant to the Government Orders dated 08.08.2019 and 27.08.2019 and in terms of the judgment in W.A.

No.1615 of 2018. It is their contention that the 2^nd espondent has already forwarded proposals to the 1^st respondent seeking regularisation of the petitioners.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court.

4. Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim, this Court directs the 1^st respondent to consider the proposal sent by the 2^nd respondent and pass appropriate orders on the petitioners’ claim for regularisation, on par with similarly placed persons, in accordance with law and in the light of the aforesaid Government Orders as well as in the line of directions issued by this Court in W.A. No.1615 of 2018, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
