ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records relating to the order of the first respondent issued vide Annexure - 10 dated 28.01.2026 under Enrolment No.1200819, quash the same, and consequently direct the second respondent to conduct a fresh Physical Measurement Test of the petitioner in a fair, transparent, and Scientific manner for the recruitment to the posts of Grade II Police Constable, Grade II JWS and Fireman - 2025 for the recruitment year
2026.
2. The case of the petitioner is that the respondent issued a notification for the recruitment to the post of Grade II Police constable, Grade II JWS and Fireman – 2025. The petitioner applied for the said posts and passed the written examination. Thereafter, he was called for the physical test. The minimum required height for a candidate is 170 cm. However, in the Physical Measurement Test, the petitioner’s height was allegedly recorded as 169.5 cm. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner preferred an appeal before the second respondent. However, without conducting any re-measurement, the second respondent issued a disqualification slip stating that the petitioner has been disqualified on the ground that he fell short of the required height by 1 cm. Challenging the same, the petitioner ha filed the present Writ Petition seeking re-measurement of his height.
3. On perusal of the disqualification slip, it is seen that the petitioner's height was measured as 169.5 cm and in the appeal, his height was shown as 169 cm, which is below the required minimum height of 170 cm. Therefore, re-measurement of the physical measurement cannot be ordered.
4. In view of the above, this Court finds no infirmity or illegality in the disqualification slip issued by the second respondent dated 28.01.2026. Thus, the writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
