This appeal was filed challenging the condition imposed by the learned Family Judge, Tirunelveli, directing the appellant to pay a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- each to the wife and the child towards permanent alimony, while granting the decree of divorce.

2. When the appeal came up for hearing on 05.03.2026, upon hearing the learned counsel for the appellant, the learned Judge passed the following order:

The learned counsel appearing for the appellant submitted that the present appeal has been filed against the order passed by the Family Court, Tirunelveli in H.M.O.P.No.55 of 2019 insofar as fixing a permanent alimony of Rs.5,00,000/- after granting divorce. He further submitted that the wife had filed a maintenance case and in that case, there was a full final settlement between the parties before the Lok Adalat. Hence, he sought for some time to produce the Lok Adalat proceedings.

2. Registry is directed to post this appeal under the caption “For Orders” on 09.03.2026.
