Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records relating to the impugned order dated 20.01.2026 in Legal Heir Application No. TN-7202601201142 issued by the second respondent in respect of the petitioner’s father, Late. Mr.Thiyagarajan, and quash the same; and consequently direct respondents 1 to 3 to issue the Legal Heir Certificate in favour of the petitioner.

O R D E R

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records relating to the order dated 20.01.2026 in Legal Heir Application No. TN-7202601201142 issued by the second respondent in respect of the petitioner’s father, Late. Mr.Thiyagarajan, and quash the same; and consequently direct respondents 1 to 3 to issue the Legal Heir Certificate in favour of the petitioner.

2.This Court on 02.03.2026 in W.P.No.7683 of 2026 issued the following direction:

“4. In such view of the matter, this Court directs the petitioner to make an online application seeking issuance of legal heirship certificate before the Headquarters, Deputy Tahsildar, Sri Vaikuntam within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and upon filing of such application, the Headquarters, Deputy Tahsildar, Sri Vaikundam is directed to consider the same and issue legal heirship certificate in terms of the death certificate and also the earlier Legal heirship certificate pertaining to the mother of the petitioner and file report before this Court on or before 23.03.2026. The petitioner, for the purpose of enquiry, if required, shall be permitted to appear before the authority concerned, through Video Conference.”

3.It is represented by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents that the direction issued by this Court on 02.03.2026 in W.P.No.7683 of 2026 was complied with.

4.Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, the writ petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
