ORDER

(Judgment of the Court was delivered by G.R.SWAMINATHAN,J.

Heard both sides.

2. The petitioner is a resident of Savour Village. This Writ Petition has been filed in public interest. The petitioner and the fellow villagers are opposing the opening of a liquor outlet TASMAC in their village. The petitioner has given a representation dated 15.03.2025 in this regard.

3. The learned counsel for the 2nd respondent makes a statement before this Court that the liquor outlet is yet to be opened in the mentioned village. The said statement is recorded.

4. The first respondent is statutorily obliged to pass a speaking order when any objection is raised as to the location of the liquor outlet. The first respondent shall pass an appropriate order on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner’s representation within a period of eight weeks.

5. ?The Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.
