Mandamus directs authorities to consider representation and rectify erroneous patta transfer after hearing parties.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the 3^rd respondent to rectify the mistake committed in Patta No.1745 which was earlier standing in the name of the petitioner in respect of the property morefully disclosed in the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition.

2. Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3. Since no adverse order is passed against the respondents 4 to 10 in this writ petition, notice to the respondents 4 to 10 is dispensed with by this Court.

According to the petitioner, erroneously, without hearing the petitioner, the official respondents have included the names of the private respondents, namely the respondents 4 to 10 in the patta for the property owned by the petitioner. In such circumstances, the petitioner had given a representation on 21.02.2026 to the official respondents requesting them to correct the mistake and restore the original patta bearing No.1745 in favour of the petitioner. Since the said representation was not considered, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.

No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if the petitioner’s representation as stated supra is considered on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the objections, if any, from the respondents 4 to 10 and any other party, whom the 3^rd respondent deems it fit to enquire, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner’s representation.

For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the 3^rd respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner’s representation, dated 21.02.2026 seeking removal of the names of the respondents 4 to 10 in the patta for the property morefully disclosed in the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition and for restoration of patta bearing No.1745 which is earlier standing in the name of the petitioner alone, after giving due consideration to the supporting documents produced by the petitioner, and after hearing the objections, if any, from the respondents 4 to 10 and any other party, whom the 3^rd respondent deems it fit to enquire, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the aforesaid direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
