Petitioner's consent to installment payment of electricity theft demand results in writ disposal and connection restoration.

ORDER

WMP.No.11143 of 2026 has been filed to permit the petitioners to file a single writ petition. This petition is ordered on payment of single court fee. 2. This petition has been filed challenging the working sheet dated

11.02.2026 issued by the respondent.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner obtained electricity connection from the respondent, however, the respondent has arrived at a calculation as if there is a theft in electricity and forced the petitioner to pay a demand amount of Rs.2,11,800/-. Hence, this writ petition.

4.When the case was taken up, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is ready to pay the demand amount by way of four installments. The first instalment he would be paid 30.03.2026 and seeks for restoration of electricity connection

5. Heard both sides and perused the materials placed on record.

6. As agreed by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner shall pay the first instalment of Rs.61,890 on or before 30.03.2026, immediately after receipt of the said amount, the respondent shall restore the electricity connection. It is made clear that the remaining amounts shall be paid by way of three instalments on 7^th of every month.

7. Recording the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition stands closed.
