O R D E R

The petitioner is before this Court seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to issue a legal heirship certificate by including the name of the petitioner as the second wife of the deceased N.S. Murugan, by considering the online application dated

15.11.2025 in No.TN-7202511151231.

2. The petitioner contends that she was earlier issued a legal heirship certificate. However, the said certificate was subsequently cancelled at the instance of the sister of the deceased’s first wife, namely N.S. Murugan.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the application submitted by the petitioner for issuance of the legal heirship certificate is confined only to the inclusion of the children born to the petitioner through the deceased N.S. Murugan.

4. The said submission is taken on record. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner’s application dated 16.11.2025 for including the names of the petitioner’s children in the legal heirship certificate of the deceased N.S. Murugan and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
