PRAYER: The Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 528 of BNSS, 2023, praying to call for the records in F.I.R. in Crime No.750 of 2019 on the file of the T12 Poonamallee Police Station, Chennai and to quash the same.

ORDER

The Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash the F.I.R. in Crime No.750 of 2019 on the file of the T-12, Poonamallee Police Station, Chennai.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the F.I.R. was registered against the petitioner alleging that the petitioners on behalf of Hindu Munnani, conducted religious procession without permission, causing disturbance to the public.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent Police submitted that initially a case was registered by the respondent and after investigation, the respondent police filed ‘Further Action Dropped’ report on 08.09.2020 before the learned Judicial Magistrate-II, Poonamallee. A scanned reproduction of the report reads as follows:

4.In view of the above, nothing survives for further adjudication in this petition and hence, the Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. Consequently, the connected Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
