The writ petition has been instituted seeking a direction for removal of encroachments made by the respondents 6 to 22 at Gangammal Koil Kulam, which is a water body.
2. The 4th respondent, Tahsildar, filed a status report which would reveal that an inspection was conducted and the revenue authorities identified encroachments in the water body.
3. Learned Special Government Pleader would submit that 21 encroachments and one temple structure are identified as encroachments and enforcement action will be initiated for removal of encroachments and to protect the water body for the purpose of storing and preserving the water for the benefit of the people residing in that locality.
4. In view of the said submission, the official respondents are directed to initiate enforcement action for removal of encroachments in the water body and conclude the same within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
