Compliance with court order via subsequent disposal negates willful contempt disobedience.

ORDER

This Contempt Petition has been filed to punish the respondents for willful disobedience of the order passed by this Court dated 25.03.2025 made in W.P.No. 10119 of 2025.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner made a representation dated 17.12.2024 before the respondents 2 and 3 for allotment of the suitable space (shed/chamber) within the fish auctioning hall to Chennai Kasimedu Fishing Harbour, however, the same was not considered, therefore, a Writ Petition No.10119 of 2025 was filed and this Court, by an order dated 25.03.2025, disposed of the said petition. Since the respondents have not acted according to the order passed in W.P.No.10119 of 2025 dated 25.03.2025, the present Contempt Petition has been filed, thereby prayed for appropriate orders.

Per contra, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner was considered and disposed of on 22.10.2025 in terms of the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.10119 of 2025 dated 25.03.2025, thereby pleaded to close the Contempt Petition.

Considering the submission of the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents that the representation of the petitioner was considered and disposed of on 22.10.2025 in terms of the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.10119 of 2025 dated 25.03.2025, there is no willful default committed by the respondents and hence the Contempt Petition stands closed.
