Mandamus issued directing refund of fixed deposit with interest within stipulated time upon respondents' undertaking.

ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 2^nd and 3^rd respondents to consider the petitioners’

representation dated 20.7.2022 and 20.2.2024, respectively.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had made a representation on 20.07.2022 and 20.02.2024, respectively, requesting the respondents to take appropriate action within a stipulated time frame and to refund the entire fixed deposit amount along with the interest accrued for the additional period of 11 months, totalling Rs.28,01,045/-. However, the said representations have not been considered till date. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

3. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondent Nos.2 to 4 submitted that the fixed deposit amount, along with accrued interest as on date, will be refunded to the petitioner within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

4. Recording the submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to refund the fixed deposit amount along with accrued interest as on date to the petitioner within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
