The petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to make necessary changes in the revenue records with respect to the land in S.F.No.169/12-3.76 acres of land as Government Poromboke Anadheenam.

2.The contention of the petitioner is that the subject property is classified as Government Poromboke Anadheenam in the re-settlement register. However, the said land was illegally sub divided and sold to some third parties. After several rounds of litigation before the revenue authorities as well as before this Court, the Tahsildar has declared the subject property as Government Poromboke Anadheenam. Pursuant thereto, the petitioner submitted a representation seeking necessary changes in the revenue records to classify the property as a burial ground. Since the same has not been considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

3.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the official respondents, on instructions, submitted that the subject property had been purchased by certain third parties long ago and the ‘A’ Register also stands in their names. It is further submitted that a civil suit in O.S.No.28 of 2024 is pending on the file of the District Munsif Court, Viralimalai, in respect of the title to the subject property.

4.In such view of the matter, no direction as sought by the petitioner can be issued in the writ petition. It is for the parties to work out their rights in the pending suit. Considering the nature of the dispute involved in this matter, the learned District Munsif Court, Viralimali is directed to dispose of the suit as expeditiously as possible.

5.With the above observation, this writ petition is dismissed.

Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
