This Writ Petition has been filed challenging the ineligible list issued by the third respondent dated 22.01.2026, which includes the name of the petitioner in the ineligible candidate list for the subject Physics for Direct Recruitment of Post Graduate Assistant in Physics and for a consequential direction to the third respondent to issue an order selecting the petitioner for the direct recruitment for the post of PG Assistant in Physics pursuant to Notification No.02/2025, dated 10.07.2025.
2. The petitioner applied for the post of Post Graduate Assistant in Physics in the BC category in pursuant to the notification issued by the 3rd respondent dated 10.07.2025. After conducting written examinations, the
3rd respondent published the results, wherein, the petitioner scored 98 marks. Further, on 27.11.2025, the 3rd respondent published the list, wherein, the petitioner’s name was found at S.No.164 for certificate verification. The petitioner participated in the certificate verification and produced all documents. During the time of verification process, the 3rd respondent did not raise any objection with respect to her Degree Certificates. Thereafter, the 3rd respondent published the provisional selection list dated 22.01.2026 for the Physics subject and on the same day, the 3rd respondent published ineligible list, wherein, the petitioner’s name was found place at Sl.No.3. The reason for inclusion in the ineligible list is that the petitioner’s UG degree is not equivalent degree as per G.O.Ms.No.36, Higher Education (K1) Department dated 15.02.2023. Challenging the said order of the 3rd respondent dated 22.01.2026, the present writ petition has been filed.
3. It is not in dispute that the petitioner was called for Certificate Verification. However, at the time of publication of the results, the name of the petitioner has not been included. It is the specific case of the respondents that the petitioner has secured only 98 marks and it is not disputed by the petitioner that the cut-off marks for BCW Category is 99 marks and therefore, on that score itself, the case of the petitioner for being considered for the said post has to be negatived. Further, in the aforesaid background, there is no necessity for this Court to enter into the area as to whether the petitioner’s UG degree is not equivalent degree as per G.O.Ms.No.36, Higher Education (K1) Department dated 15.02.2023 and such scenario does not arise in view of the lower marks secured by the petitioner. Therefore, for the reasons aforestated, this Writ Petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs. Connected miscellaneous petitions
