O R D E R
Heard Mr.Babu Rajendran for the petitioner, Ms.Shiva Shree for the respondents 1 to 4 and Mr.M.Antony Rajadurai for the respondents 5 to 7.
2.Mr.Babu Rajendran states that the civil revision petitioner has filed the following applications:-
“i) I.A.No.3 of 2026, to implead the revision petitioner in suit.
ii) I.A.No.4 of 2026, for appointment of Commissioner to conduct the election.
iii) I.A.No.5 of 2026, to implead the revision petitioner in I.A.No.1 of 2024 (Order -1 Rule -8).
iv) I.A.No.6 of 2026, to vacate the injunction order passed in I.A.No.127 of 2024.
v) I.A.No.7 of 2026, to implead the revision petitioner as
4th respondent in injunction petition.”
3.He states that all these applications have been adjourned to
12.06.2026.
4.The contesting parties, namely, the plaintiffs and the defendants, are already before this Court as respondents 1 to 4 and respondents 5 to 7. Being a suit presented under Order I Rule 8 of the Code of Civil Procedure, any member of the Church of Glory, East Gate Pastorate, Madurai, is entitled to come on record by filing an application to implead himself.
5.Considering the position that an election for a Church has been injuncted, the learned Principal District Munsif, Madurai, is requested to advance the hearing of applicationsfrom 12.06.2026 to 20.04.2026. On that day, the present parties to the suit, namely, the four plaintiffs and the three defendants, will tender no objection in I.A.No.3 of 2026, I.A.No.5 of 2026 and I.A.No.7 of 2026. The statement of Ms.Shiva Shree and Mr.Antony Rajadurai to that effect is recorded. Thereafter, the learned Principal District Munsif, Madurai, will take up I.A.No.4 of 2026 and I.A.No.6 of 2026 and decide the same on merits. The learned Principal District Munsif, Madurai, may take note of the fact that a religious institution has been injuncted from proceeding further with the election. Hence, all these applications may be disposed of expeditiously within a period of eight weeks from 20.04.2026.
6.With the aforesaid directions, this Civil Miscellaneous Petition stands disposed of. The Civil Revision Petition stands rejected at the SR stage itself.
